YEAR 8's day kick-started with a salsa dancing lesson, followed by Mandarin Chinese taught by four students from another school, then a Europe quiz, a Spanish art lesson and African Drumming in music.

All in all, the day was a great laugh and we really enjoyed it.

Tom Dawson in 8G1 said: "I really enjoyed curriculum day because we got to experience new languages and cultures."

Alex Warmisham in 8F1 also said: "It was nice learning about the different cultures. My favourite part was the salsa dancing because it was really good fun and really funny too!"

The day was great because it allowed us to learn lots in a different way.

This year, everyone – the pupils and the staff - had a lot of fun and learnt many interesting things.

So, it looks as if Balcarras will have a lot of work to do next year if it wants to live up to 2013's curriculum day.
