Schools Page - Balcarras School: Performathon raises money for Kenyan school
FRIDAY, February 8 was the date for Balcarras very own 24-hour Performathon.
The target was to raise money for our Kenyan partner school, St Aloy's Gem, and to replace the electric pianos in the music department. The evening involved 228 performers including music teachers Beth Hayes and Suzi Buckley, who kept the activity going in-between acts.
The music kicked off at 9am sharp and from then on a variety of live music was heard throughout the day and night until 9am on Saturday morning. The event involved a variety of high quality performances which showcased the pupils' talent and love for music.
Audiences were welcomed during Friday evening and they witnessed some spectacular contributions, including performances from the school choir and the school orchestra, as well as mind blowing acts by students of all ages. Many of the participants opted to stay up all night to support their fellow students, listening to the music they played during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The father and son relationship is special, catch that perfect bond at a special photoshoot for them.
