ALL four of Gloucester's Scottish contingent will miss the LV= Cup semi-final against Cardiff.

The two Lawsons, Scott and Rory, have both been selected on the bench by Andy Robinson in the Scotland squad to face England at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Meanwhile, prop Alasdair Dickinson and blindside Alasdair Strokosch are both carrying injuries picked up playing for Gloucester against Wasps last Sunday.

Dickinson is nursing a concussion while Strokosch aggravated an ankle injury which has limited him to just one appearance in this season's Six Nations so far.

Head coach Bryan Redpath would have expected to be without Strokosch, Dickinson and Scott Lawson, but not Rory Lawson who has not been selected for the last two games.

The scrum-half is back in the squad because of an injury to Edinburgh's Mike Blair as cover for starting number nine Chris Cusiter.

Dave Lewis and Andy Williams, who started against Wasps last week, will now vie for the scrum-half position for the Cardiff semi-final on Sunday.

“So the LV Cup takes place during internationals, does it? So why did we have a Premiership game in November against Leicester when England were playing that weekend? And why was there no international on Jan 30th when we played Worcester in the LV Cup? It's all a load of baloney!”

“Ron, the whole point of this LV Cup is that the games take place whilst Internationals are on. It is surprising that a HC place is up for grabs, especially when the organisers deem it such an important competition that the final is at Worcester!”

“Having the knockout stages of the LV= Cup affected by the tedious Six Nations is just plain daft. There is a HC berth up for grabs and we are losing several players to daft international games.”
