SHEEP farmer's wife Sue Awdry will face magistrates later this month after being charged with public disorder.

The wife of Bream sheep badger Jeremy Awdry was arrested on May 12. She was charged on Tuesday after turning up to answer police bail.

On July 14 she will face magistrates accused of using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Mrs Awdry was arrested on the same day her husband Jeremy was freed after a successfully appealing against a judge's decision to remand him in custody.

The 58-year-old from Bream was arrested at 8.10am and taken to Gloucester Police Station for questioning about allegations of disorderly behaviour. She was released on bail at 1.30am the following morning.

Sheep farmer husband Jeremy is currently awaiting trial for allegedly intimidating witnesses and breaching his Asbo.

The 60-year-old of Lydney Road, Bream, is charged with three counts of breaching an anti-social behaviour order in Tidenham on March 10 and, by acting in a threatening manner to a couple in Bream High Street on April 20 and by threatening the woman again two days later.

He also faces a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Awdry has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

He is due to appear before magistrates on August 14 when the case is expected to be committed to Crown Court.

Awdry was given an Asbo in February preventing him from letting his flock of 500 sheep enter areas of Bream and prohibiting him from intimidating residents and officials.
