Shona nets Island win
BOURTON Roadrunners' annual trip to the Guernsey Marathon coincided with glorious weather.
Ladies race winner Shona Crombie-Hicks (above) smashed the three-hour barrier with a superb time of 2:56.15.
Next in was multi-marathon man Steve Edwards with another sub 3:15 finish, clocking 3:13.20.
Nigel Frith did well to compete after a debilitating injury from mid-season training, and his time of 3:48.51 was more than creditable.

In her first marathon Steph Holton did brilliantly, crossing the line in 3:54.15.
Second and third lady Vet 50s in the race were Susan Hunt in 4:00.44 and Jan Short in 4:01.45.
The mixed marathon team of trip organiser Mike Smith, Pete Scarrott, Sarah Harper, Mick Hunt and Shirley Creed ran to glory in first place.
A mixed relay half duo of Dennis and Lucy Walmsley continued the winning trend, as did female relay half team Gill Carrick and Lynn Hudson.
Ewen Smith was busy touring Scotland with his South African running friends and could not help slotting in a quick 10K during the trip, completing the Golspie race in 42.56.
On the new Angels 10K course at Ashleworth, Steph Lane led the way for the ladies on the challenging, country lane course.
Taking the lead from the start, she never looked in any danger of being caught and crossed the line to win in 42.06.
Other runners from Bourton to take part in the county race were David Pyne (49.27), Gill Carrick (50.03), Norm Lane (50.09) and Lynn Hudson (55.52).
