Shotgun attack on cat in Stroud
WHO shot our Jasper? That’s what cat owner Claire Deacon wants to know, after their loveable ginger tom was targeted with a shotgun.
Bleeding and wailing with pain, and peppered with lead shot, Jasper crawled back to his owner, who whisked him off to a veterinary surgery.
-

Now police in Stroud are appealing to residents for information on the incident.
Jasper suffered a fractured leg and wounds to his chest and back.
Vets told Jasper’s owner Claire Deacon he had been shot with a shotgun, twice from different angles. Luckily the shot did not pierce his organs, though he has a broken rear foot, and many flesh wounds.
He was operated on over the weekend, and sent home to recuperate in Barrowfield Road, Whiteshill, Stroud today.
“My children were devastated,” said Mrs Deacon, 46. “He is a member of our family. He is nearly three and we have always had cats. It was very distressing.”
He had been out on open land behind Barrowfield Road, and was found in Mrs Deacon’s garden at around 9.45pm on Friday.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 204 of March 6. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Pabssss, Glowster; you are just an illiterate moron. Dosby; one cat is worth ten of you; I would love to use a shotgun on you; in your nether regions would do ,see how you like it. Anyone who shoots animals of any kind deserves to be put down.”

“I think you'll find that cats find the human race a bit on the inferior side, I should know I have 2 and I am completely under the paw!!!”

But the Law says you don't have too but if you hit a dog you do. Just goes to show how inferior cats actually are.”

“It says it all when you don't even have to report the fact that you have run a car over when you are driving down the road!!”

“Dosby, don't suppose anyone cares about you either with your attitude. I think most dogs and cats are far more intelligent than you'll ever be”

“I'd like to think that no dog owner allows their dogs to roam at any time of day or night, I certainley didn't when my dog was alive I took her for walks. Dogs if not controlled can attack people or other animals, they are more likely to cause accidents as they have absolutely no road sense. Have you tried taking a cat out for a walk, I have, didn't go down too well. As cats are agile free spirits you can't control them, there are means of discouraging them from your garden, like a well aimed hose pipe, not a shotgun. And I'll have you know my cats are shut in at night whether they like it or not”
