Simon seeks a space in the woods
WOODLAND adventurer Simon Turk is appealing to landowners to help get young people in the great outdoors.
The 43-year-old runs Treecreepers, an independent forest school on the outskirts of Cheltenham, which teaches young people all about nature and the outdoors.

He is currently operating from the public woodland Lineover Wood, near Charlton Kings, but would like a private area that he could develop into a permanent forest school.
"It gives children a chance to learn self-confidence and learn to make their own risk assessments," he said.
"I would like a space which would enable us to build a permanent campsite area and substantial seating area."
Anyone who has a piece of suitable land should email Simon at info@treecreepers.co.uk.

“The best of luck to you in finding a space for your forest school. I'm sure there must be someone out there with lovely woodland who would be happy for it to be used as a place where children get to thrive and have a real sense of achievement. keep up the good work.”

“Too true...there is plenty of brownbelt land out there but it's pure greed as it costs to clean it up! I was bought up in the country and feel lucky to have done so. So many youngsters out there have not experienced the great outdoors and what you can do, there could be some people with great skills yet to discover them who will never get the chance.”

“Well done Simon, but we fear that there won't be too much land left for our young people to learn about soon!! Join PEPS-NET on Facebook to try to influence councils to preserve our greenbelt rather than sell it off to housing developers!!”
