Sinbad: I am going nowhere
THE first thing James Simpson-Daniel knew of his possible move to Wasps this week was via a phone call from his dad.
The Gloucester man was touted on a Wasps fans' forum as having signed for the High Wycombe club after he was spotted talking to boss Tony Hanks on Sunday.

But the winger said there was no truth at all in the rumour – and that he was happy at Kingsholm and preparing for a possible testimonial year next season.
"I called my old man after the Wasps game and as I came off the phone he (Hanks) was stood next to me as we were walking round to the food," Simpson-Daniel said.
"We just made polite conversation. I was grumpy because we'd lost and the next thing I knew my old man was ringing saying it was on one of these sites that I was going to Wasps.
"That's another club to be added to the long list I'm supposedly going to.
"All I can say is I'm very happy. I'm not sure what's going on next year, I might be having a testimonial.
"But for now I'm just knuckling down and getting on with my job."
Simpson-Daniel is out of contract at the end of next season and although he refused to talk in definite terms, the likelihood is he will stay at the club he joined as a teenager.
"The only thing I've ever said is never say never," he said.
"I can never say 100 per cent because I'm out of contract next season and the club might not want me or a much better offer could come in from elsewhere.
"You have to consider all sorts of things including if your family are happy."
Other players, including skipper Gareth Delve and winger Lesley Vainikolo, are yet to commit to the club beyond the end of this season.
Delve was called up to the Wales squad this week, leaving a gaping hole at number eight for the Cherry and Whites in their trip to Cardiff in the LV= Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Jake Boer and Apo Satala have emerged as favourites to deputise for Delve, with Luke Narraway, the club's other specialist number eight, sidelined with a knee injury.
Simpson-Daniel said: "Delvey is a big loss for us, everyone knows that.
"He has been outstanding in the last few months, awesome.
"He has presence as a captain. When you talk to him he has captain written all over him. He gets on with everyone, he has a good rugby brain.
"It's a loss but we have a few ready to come in, the likes of Jake and Bucko (Peter Buxton), who are also leaders.
"But it's great for Delvey to be back involved with Wales."

“I just hope he stays. Too many good players who, when they are fit, make the fans proud to be fans. It lifts everyones spirits and makes us belive and smile. I think he is a talent England have for too long overlooked. Please stay and make all of us at Kingsholme happy”

“Lets use this forum to get a conversation going about who we think should play number 8 on sunday.
I would like to see Buxton put on the shirt.
What about everyone else?”

“I was also talking to my dad after the wasps game and heard JSD asking where the chips were.
I suspect from this he was going to a casino and not the food counter.”

“Viv, read the article again. There were rumours doung the rounds that he was signing for Wasps at the end of this season. He has categorically knocked those on the head.”

“"i'm not sure what's going on next year"..... 'the only thing I've ever said is never say never"....."I'm out of contract"....."a much better offer could come in from elsewhere"
Rather than JSD coming out and knocking the rumours on the head I'd say he's fanning the flames!”

“I believe that is what they call a non-story (not to be confused with the Nun's Story which starred Audrey Hepburn; Sinbad didn't even get an extras part in that one).”
