Slaves To Gravity was born from the ashes of The Ga Ga’s, with Tommy Gleeson and Toshi Ogawa joining forces with former Ariel-X six stringer Mark Verney.

Following on from the success of their first two singles, “Big Red” and “Meantime”, “Scatter The Crow” is their crunching debut album, scheduled for release on March 31st through Gravitas records.

I’ll make no bones about it; this is a belter of an album. It’s groove laden, riff driven and heartfelt rock and roll at its finest.

Right from the opener “Heaven Is a Lie” you are swept away into a rush of guitar driven arrangements, honest vocal melodies and anthemic choruses.

“Mr Regulator”, the current single is huge, with Gleeson’s vocals reminiscent of Chris Cornell at the top of his game, laid against a backdrop of fist pumping guitar work. It is tight, punchy and downright addictive.

The band draw on a huge range of combined rock influences and with this album they have created a monster that needs to be heard.

In a rock scene that is fast becoming watered down with copycat artists Slaves To Gravity have thrown something totally refreshing into the mix.

Produced by the band themselves the album is packed with raw energy over a totally polished performance.

Gone is the sleazy and debauched aspect that was associated with The Ga Ga’s, and it is very much as if The Ga Ga’s have grown up and created a new rock edge for the new millennium.

With the already outstanding success of the singles these guys are fast becoming the UK’s equivalent of Velvet Revolver.

With a full blown UK tour lined up to support the album, 2008 looks destined to be the year of the slaves.
