Confidence was running high, and it was rewarded when a great direct pass from Scott Mortimer found Alex Lumsden.
He brought it down beautifully and went on to finish just as well, after which the Lilywhites had more chances but could not find the finish.
With all the possession and attempts the side were shocked when a Letcombe player went on a run and found himself skipping past four defenders and passing across to the striker for a tap-in.
Brimscombe found themselves further up against it moments later when a free-kick was not cleared and fell for Letcombe to go 2-1 up.
Ben Deakin came on at the start of the second half, which started well and got better and better as the away side dominated.
The equaliser finally came when Deakin cut inside and from the edge of the box fired in to bring the score level.
As the 90th minute approached Brimscombe were pushing for the winner, and it arrived when a corner was fired in and another sub Ben Smith got on the end of it to put his side into the quarter-finals.
