ACCLAIMED playwright Alan Ayckbourn returns to The Everyman with a cautionary tale of the dangers of taking the law into your own hands.

Neighbourhood Watch, Ayckbourn's 75th play, tells the story of Martin and his sister Hilda, newcomers on the Bluebell Hill Development, where all is not right.

Theft, petty crime and vandalism are all on the increase. When Martin and Hilda become the latest victims, they resolve to take action.

But what starts out as a well intentioned neighbourhood watch scheme soon develops into something altogether more sinister.

Directed by the Ayckbourn himself, the play is presented by Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre Company, where Ayckbourn was artistic director until 2009, in association with Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

More than half of the Olivier, Tony and Moliere Award winning playwright's works have been produced in London's West End as well as on Broadway and around the world. This is the show's UK premiere following a successful run in New York.

The all-star cast include Eileen Batty, Terence Booth, Phil Cheadle, Matthew Cottle, Richard Derrington, Frances Grey, Amy Loughton and Alexandra Mathie. Tickets cost from £10 to £25.
