Sprucing up Gloucester streets with £10,000 new paving stones
SPLASHING out on repairs along Gloucester's main gate streets will help keep shoppers coming back for more, it is hoped.
More than £10,000 is being spent on urgent repairs on cobbled streets and pedestrianised zones along the gate streets.
And smartening up the city centre will not just improve the city centre appearance, but also make it safer for scooters and wheelchairs.
Ward councillor Pam Tracey said: "This investment is not just helping the elderly or disabled by making it safer for them, but it will benefit everyone who visits. Lorries need to access the shops, but they are doing a lot of damage to pavements and pedestrian surfaces in the gate streets. Gloucester has always been a market town, not a juggernaut town.
