ST MARK'S Dragons travelled to Bristol for their final tournament of the season.

The Yate tournament attracted some of the best teams in the south east of the region with over 15 teams divided into 2 leagues.

The Dragons began their campaign playing some outstanding football, with Beckham Morgan topping the scoring charts with nine goals in six games.

Results: St Mark's Dragons 4, Winterbourne Utd B 0 (Josh Whiting, Beckham Morgan 3); St Mark's Dragons 2, Shire Colts B 1 (Beckham Morgan, Josh Whiting); St Mark's Dragons 4, Rockleaze Rangers B 0 (Beckham Morgan 3, Ergys Berisha); St Mark's Dragons 4, Golden Hill Sonics B 0 (Kieran Howard 3, Beckham Morgan); St Mark's Dragons 0, Yate Utd 0; St Mark's Dragons 1, Henbury Colts B 0 (Beckham Morgan).

After a long morning featuring six games, the Dragons were unbeaten and moved into the semi final drawing Shire Colts A.

This was described as one of the best games of the day by the crowd on the sidelines, with the action flowing from one end to the other.

St Mark's opened the scoring in the first minute, Kieran Howard played through Morgan who squared straight to Josh Whiting who rifled the ball into the back of the net.

Then Shire Colts came straight back and equalised and put St Mark's under pressure with some brilliant goalkeeping from Joe Quiney kept the Dragons in the game.

Late on Shire Colts played some great counter attacking football to take the lead.

The Dragons rallied at the start of the second half and put Shire Colts under pressure straight from the kick off.

Liam Dix embarked on a powerful run in from the right hand side but saw his low shot superbly saved by the Colts keeper.

Ergys Berisha clipped the crossbar and Mario Jardin had his effort smothered by the keeper as St Mark's attempted to get back into the game..

The Dragons ran themselves into the ground trying to find the equaliser but the Shire Colts won through to the final.

However the young St Marks players had each given 100 per cent to the cause and had displayed some great flowing and creative football.

A huge thank you to all of the players and especially the parents who give up so much of their time to support the team. St Marks Dragons go into 11 a-side football in the new season
