WYCLIFFE Choral Society's concert on Sunday includes the highly acclaimed The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by the Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, which was commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum to commemorate the Millennium and is dedicated to the victims of Kosovo.
The concert, which also includes two popular works for strings, Elgar's Serenade and Britten's Simple Symphony, begins at 7.30pm in Wycliffe College Chapel. Stonehouse WI holds its Annual General Meeting tonight. The speaker is Phil Bischler (Dr Chocolate) who will be demonstrating chocolate making and, yes, members will be able to try some. The competition will be a decorated cupcake and the winner will be awarded the rose bowl. The bring-and-buy will have biscuits for sale. The meeting is at 7.30pm in Stonehouse Community Centre in Laburnum Walk.
The Mothers' Union meets on the third Thursday of the month so tomorrow is the day to go to Hazelwood in Stonehouse for an interesting meeting.
