Stow storm to derby day victory

IN NEAR perfect conditions, Stow's opening league fixture was a local derby against Chipping Norton.
The early pressure came from Stow and was rewarded when Craig Chapman drove over from the back of a maul and Nick Caffero converted.
Chipping Norton quickly replied. Stow were penalised just inside their own half, the ball was kicked to touch and from the resulting lineout the forwards drove over.

Caffero broke through inside his own half and offloaded to Alex Kelly who used his pace to score near the posts but the conversion was wide.
Just before the break Stow increased their lead when the outstanding Kelly collected the ball inside his own half, outpaced several defenders to score under the posts with Caffero converting
Stow scored their bonus point try when a lineout was driven close to the try line before quick ball then went wide for Louis Miller to score in the corner.
A Caffero penalty edged Stow into a secure lead before the game was put out of reach when Caffero made a great break in the centre and Kelly was on hand to score under the posts. Caffero converted.
Stow lost a man to the sin-bin in the final minutes which Chipping Norton took advantage of to by scoring their second try and adding the conversion.
