Sue Ryder shop in Gloucester open for business after five week refit

A BRIGHT and breezy new look has been ushered into Gloucester's Sue Ryder shop.

The store, in The Oxebode, has undergone an extensive refit over the past five weeks and reopened on Thursday.

Manager Tracy Arnold said: "It's really light, one lady said it was posh.

"It was just starting to look a bit dated so we decided to go for it and it looks great."

The shop has been restocked with all sorts of new goodies to go alongside the generous donations brought in.

Mayor of Gloucester David Brown was on hand to help officially open it on Friday, although building work was a day ahead of schedule so Tracy and staff opened up earlier than planned.

    “Let's hope they don't turn their nose up at some donations like they do at their Brockworth branch. Cotswold Hospice in Hucclecote (next to the Co-op) tell me they are grateful for ALL donations.”
