Rehomer Wendy Hyde said: "She's a truly international star now."

Mrs Hyde has been looking after her during her recovery and she has taken a liking to snuggling up to her nine-year-old son Harrison.

She said: "She's not out of the woods yet but she's certainly on the mend.

"We've had her back into the vets because of an infection but she is a lot more perky now and she's taken over my living room.

"We have been absolutely bowled over by the messages of support from all over the world. People have been very generous and The Citizen has been great in getting the word out."

People as far as Jersey and London have offered to rehome her once she is better.

But Victoria is not the only one needing help.

The charity has been landed with two kittens, called Merlin and Leo, in need of a home in the last week.

Mrs Hyde said: "When you see the cats you just can't say no. You have to help them."
