Surgeon to give 'internal bra' training
CHELTENHAM cosmetic surgeon Dalvi Humzah has been announced as the first fully-accredited national Breform trainer in the UK.
Nicknamed 'the internal bra', the procedure involves a mesh wiring device that is inserted under the skin to lift up sagging breasts.
Breform appointed Mr Humzah, who has appeared as an expert on the TV show Embarrassing Bodies, based on his specialist technique, previous training credentials and experience in performing the most procedures of this type in the UK to date.
Mr Humzah said he was delighted and honoured to accept the accreditation, which will see him offering specialist training to fellow professional cosmetic surgeons in private clinics and hospitals across the country.
He said: "I will work directly with Breform to increase the number of fully-trained surgeons offering this exclusive treatment for patients in both private hospitals and the NHS.
"As a former tutor and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, I am very much looking forward to teaching my techniques in this procedure to fellow professional surgeons."
Mr Humzah has been performing Breform procedures in the UK since July 2009.
He is also one of 11 practitioners in the country to offer the breast treatment.
Breform is supplied in the UK by CloverLeaf Medical, based in Buckinghamshire.
Matt Clegg, sales director at CloverLeaf Medical, said: "We are delighted to have Mr Humzah on board as an accredited Breform trainer.
"The demand for UK-based training is extremely high and with the help of our first accredited trainer we hope to increase the growing list of surgeons specialised in this area.
"By taking on this role, Mr Humzah will be at the forefront of our 'live theatre' training programme during 2011.
"He will also support us in our decision to offer accredited status to fellow cosmetic surgeons in the field."
