Swap event gives people chance to exchange unwanted items in Cheltenham
RESIDENTS of Bishop's Cleeve and Woodmancote are being warned about hoax calls.
The scam involves fake phone calls, where people pretended to be from the council and told residents they were entitled to a council tax rebate.
The local policing team asked the community to warn their elderly neighbours, who were being particularly targeted, about the calls.
They told residents they were entitled to a £2,000 refund due to incorrect banding and attempted to make an appointment at their home.

“Nearly 3 hours since my first comment and the story title has still not been changed. Perhaps the report button could have "incorrect reporting" added to the options.”

“TIG - I do think that one of the first requirements of a journalist should be to put the correct tiitle to their article. This story has nothing to do with swapping items in Cheltenham.”
