Switched-on youngsters enjoy event with experts

CHILDREN were bright sparks when they learned about the intricacies of electricity as art of a school project.

The Charlton Kings pupils were given the opportunity to learn about the power source when they were visited by science experts.

Techniquest, a science outreach group, taught the pupils, at Glenfall Community Primary School in Glenfall Way, the ins and outs of making a working circuit.

Teacher Nicola Grisman said the children had a good time learning about electricity.

She said: "It was all part of curriculum enhancement.

"The event was a science workshop which was delivered by Techniquest, an outreach group.

"They were teaching the children about electricity and the children had the opportunity to build circuits.

"The pupils also looked at how electricity is generated.

"The day was organised for Year 4 children and a Year 6 class also took part in a workshop.

" I think the children enjoyed it."
