A LONG trip to Plymouth proved profitable for the synchronised swimmers of Cheltenham Swimming and Water Polo Club.

Twenty youngsters aged 11 to 18 took part in the recreational contest for clubs in the South West, which saw competitors from Bristol Central, Chippenham, St Austell, and Seagulls Swimming Clubs.

Cheltenham's top team were the 19 and Under squad, who took silver in a class of four behind Bristol.

The 13/14 team also got silver against Chippenham, while the 12 and under team were narrowly beaten into fourth place out of five.
