Then the first of many scything breaks from Newent's fly-half created space for open-side George Phelps to run in.
A second Goatley penalty increased Newent's lead before wing Dominic Matthews dummied infield before shifting gear and sprinting down the touchline. His perfectly weighted pass found Richard Merrett, who ran in under the posts, and Goatley converted.
Newent's next try came from the Goatley-Phelps combination, as the fly-half's break was halted but the open-side was on hand to take the offload and run in for his second.
It was not long before Newent had their try bonus wrapped up, as more slick handling by the backs created space for Merrett to touch down for his second.
Newent's opener of the second half was a true team effort, culminating in full-back Brett Gardner finishing. New acquisition Ross Webb made an immediate impact, crashing over under the posts with his second touch for his side's sixth.
Webb's next touch was memorable for the wrong reasons, as he was late tackled in an incident which resulted in a yellow card for Chipping Sodbury's number eight.
The visitors' prop-forward skipper was shown a red card following an incident as a scrum broke up.
Newent took full advantage, as more slick handling worked space for outside centre Charlie Gellert to run under the posts. Goatley converted.
Newent sent in Matthews for a deserved eighth, and with the final play Newent scrum-half James Dean broke through the tired and dispirited defence to dot down under the posts and Goatley added the extras.
