TWO youngsters from Cheltenham Swimming and Water Polo Club have been selected to play for Great Britain in an international tournament in the Ukraine.

Will Rayson, a pupil at All Saints' Academy in Cheltenham, and Will Strachan, who is at Churchdown School Academy, will be part of the GB Under-17 team at the event in May.

They will face teams from Poland, Russia, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany and the Ukraine.

The 15-year-olds began playing water polo at the Cheltenham club and were part of the squad that took silver in the national age group championships last season.

Cheltenham coach John Spicer said: "I have watched these lads develop over the past five years with great satisfaction and this selection is a just reward for their dedication and hard work."
