A CABBIE in Stroud reversed into another vehicle while waiting for a space on the town's main taxi rank, councillors were told.

The unnamed taxi or private hire driver was later found guilty in court of driving without due care, the Stroud District Council Licensing and Regulation Committee was told.

The driver, who'd decided not to attend the meeting, was issued with a written warning by the committee and advised to fit rear sensors to the back of his vehicle.

Members also strongly encouraged him to undertake a driving assessment through Gloucestershire County Council's Road Safety Unit, the committee minutes record.
