A CABBIE in Stroud has been reprimanded .

The hackney carriage or private hire driver was issued with a written warning, by a private meeting of Stroud District Council's Licensing and Regulation Committee.

The driver, whose name has not been revealed was given the warning after the committee "considered whether the driver is still a fit and proper person to hold a license".

“RockyB - in which case you will also have noticed that my comments are directly linked to the article onto which they are placed, and are therefore on-topic. Unlike yourself. You aren't the 1st to comment about my apparently-prolific comments, and you may well not be the last. If my comments upset you, either in their content or overall number, then so be it.

To answer your question regarding my education, Pershore High School, including A-levels, and then UWE Bristol. And since June 1995, the big wide world of employment - a constant education.

You'll also notice that TiG have 75 news articles today, and therefore the number I've actually commented is a VERY small minority. I don't even read many of the articles, and only comment on those that interest / concern / annoy me. If you've been following me of late, you'll have worked out that housing / Green Belt development, motoring (bad drivers etc.), highways improvements / utility works etc. are my main points of interest. Oh, and the regular nonsense content TiG like to amuse us with.

Thanks for creating a login, just to comment on my commenting. Feel free to add your own views on articles. I'm going to continue to do so, as many other frequent commentors also do. I'm sure (haven't checked) that there are plenty who comment on more stories that I do.”

    “Taxi driver gets warning'
This could be for a miriad of reasons.
Here's my selection, anyone got any more.
    1) Never indicating
    2) Parking for 10-15 minutes in drop off zones outside supermarkets
    3) Beeping horns outside houses, even at night, 'cos they're too lazy to get out and knock the door.
    4) Charging rip-off prices, especially at Christmas or Cheltenham Races.
    5) Smoking in the car, but big signs everywhere saying the punters can't smoke.
    Next....................!!!!”

I was just catching up with this non-report and read your comment.

This is thankfully a democracy and everybody, even you , can comment on every report in every Ti site all over the country. Good isn't it. :))

Of course, you could do the same as me and skip past the comments you don't want to
    read.:((”

“RockyB, you created an account specifically to post exactly the same comment (word for word) 4 times on 4 different stories commented on by Matt1006...? Really?

Anyway, let's hope that wherever your children are educated that they manage to get a better grasp of grammar and logical debate than you appear to have.”

“So presumably the cabbie has kept his/her license, and is therefore still plying his/her trade in and around Stroud. Do the cabbies know who he/she is - if not, could they now all be looking at each other and wondering if so-and-so is the one?

And if the cabbie is still working, presumably whatever it is he/she did (or didn't do) to earn this reprimand doesn't constitute a potential danger to customers, or other road users.

So it's safe to get into this cabbie's vehicle. Isn't it...???”

“What an appalling piece of 'journalism'. Five lines of utter drivel which tell us absolutely nothing at all.

A monkey cold have written a better article than this!!!

A word of advice - if you cannot write an article that is informative please do not bother. I know that you probably had a few column inches to fill but please. Do better than this.”

“So 'someone' has done 'something' and been has been told off.

Riveting reporting TiG...that Investigative Journalism Level 1 NVQ course has really paid dividends hasn't it?”

    “@PengiPete

Flipping heck......no wonder the London black cabs all have windows between the customers and themselves, and most, but not all, are a miserable lot of 'b's, if they have to worry about all those things!!!!:((”
