Team wants pub to be a family affair

IT'S about keeping it in the family for the team behind Cheltenham's latest pub takeover.

Father and son duo Martin and Tom Bliss have taken over the Wheatsheaf Inn, in Old Bath Road, after former manager Matt Birch gave up the lease.

It is their first foray into the pub industry but – supported by Martin's wife Karen, his daughter Ellie and Tom's girlfriend Faye Edgington – they are confident it will be a success.

Martin, 47, said: "We have all moved in upstairs above the pub so it will be a proper family affair. I think that's the way it should be.
