Tenant left furious by "unfinished" work
FURIOUS Scott Streeter says Gloucester City Homes has left him living in a house with an unfinished kitchen for three years.
Mr Streeter, 31, who lives with his wife Joanne and daughter Olivia-Jay, 10, in Union Street, Kingsholm, had a new kitchen fitted in 2006.
However, he said the work was left without the ceiling, walls or floor being finished, and, despite numerous requests, it had remained that way ever since.
Mr Streeter said: "They came out to do the kitchen three years ago, but never finished the job.
"The house is really old, and we had to remove a lot of units from one wall.
"It meant that the ceiling was never finished off properly, they could not artex all of it, so I have been left with grubby plasterboard and a piece of wood hanging down.
"The floor has also never been finished off, and the wall needs more work as well, and it has been like this for three years.
"We did have someone come along from Gloucester City Homes to take pictures of what needed doing, but I didn't hear from them again.
"I called in, only to be told that the pictures had been lost.
"It is so frustrating, I should not have to wait for three years to have the kitchen finished, it's ridiculous."
Ashley Green, chief executive of Gloucester City Homes, vowed to tackle Mr Streeter's problems immediately.
He said: "If Mr Streeter is unhappy we will send a surveyor around to the property to assess the situation so we can get it sorted out.
"We are committed to providing excellent customer service at Gloucester City Homes.
"We have just have spent £2 million on providing new kitchens and bathrooms for our customers, and we have a high level of customer satisfaction.
"If our customers are not happy for any reason we want to solve the problem.
"Therefore we will be going round to see Mr Streeter in order to find out the issues so we can put them right."

“Pays rent? A pitiful sum, heavily subsidised by the poor mugs who struggle to hold their own. Don't make me laugh.”

“Is this really news!? What's stopping this person doing the job himself like most people have to! Isn't there something wrong with a society where people just expect everything done for them?”
