THE Under-18 girls tennis team at Virgin Active Gloucester have finished runners up after losing against Bolton in the final of the Premier National tournament.

Bolton took the spoils from the two-day tournament, which took place at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

Gloucester beat Nottingham, the Midlands regional champions, on the opening day of the tournament to set up the final against Bolton.

Only three other Under-18s teams were invited to the AEGON Team Tennis Premier Finals and Gloucester secured their place at the tournament by becoming the current South-West champions, beating West Hampshire, Halton, Exeter and Exmouth tennis clubs to claim the regional crown.
