Thomas Keble School have won the Under-13s Gloucestershire School Games junior basketball final.
They beat host Sir Thomas Rich's School 54-30 yesterday.
A tense and scrappy first quarter finished with Thomas Keble, based in Eastcombe, Stroud, holding a slender 10-8 lead.
Following this, the game became more open with Thomas Keble gaining the advantage through effective pressure defence and quick offensive transition. The Thomas Keble finishing was superior to the less experienced Sir Thomas Rich's team.
But the Longlevens-based school nevertheless also scored more freely in the second half, with George McCloskey's 12 points leading for them.
Thomas Keble eventually ran out comfortable 54-30 winners in a fast, enjoyable contest, with Jake Hawksbee the game's high scorer with 28.
