Families flocked to one of the county's last great agricultural shows in the shadow of famous Berkeley Castle.

The crowds were out in force today for the 108th annual Berkeley Show with its horticultural and craft classes, farm livestock competitions, horse and pony showing, riding and jumping contests.

Demonstrations of classic and modern day sheep shearing were among the attractions on the castle meadow in Berkeley and supporters of the local Berkeley Hunt warmly welcomed the usual parade of hounds in the main entertainments ring.

Trade stands were fully booked beforehand and show secretary Christine Carter said she was was grateful to Gloucester City Farm which was able to display its rare breeds despite travel restrictions imposed on other keepers by of TB
