For the fifth year in a row Gloucester City Council's tourism team has shown that they are amongst the best at what they do.
They have won gold at the South West Tourism Awards following a rigorous judging process which involved being assessed by 'secret shoppers.'

The team has won three golds and two silver awards in the competition – the only regional team to have been shortlisted for five consecutive years.
This year they came joint top with Bodmin tourism staff out of a shortlist of five regional competitors.
Council Leader, Paul James, commented: "This is a truly phenomenal achievement and demonstrates the hard work and commitment of the staff involved. In competitions like this the bar gets raised every year and to come back and keep winning is truly magnificent.
" Tourism is an important part of our local economy but there are many aspects of the services they provide which are used by local residents as well. They really are an outstanding all-round team."
The Tourist Information Office is based in Southgate Street and deals with hotel and conference bookings, theatre and coach bookings, information about the city and local areas and attractions. They have books, maps and mementos and the answers to the myriad of questions asked by visitors to the City.
