Tony writes first novel at age of 79
IT is never too late to write your first novel, as Prestbury resident Tony Whelpton has found out.
He is delighted to have published his first novel Before The Swallow Dares at the age of 79.
After a varied career as a lecturer, best-selling school textbook writer and editor, Mr Whelpton, who is 80 in January, thought he had put his writer's pen to rest until he got the urge to write while travelling.
Two years on, the book can be bought as an ebook or ordered from Waterstones.
