Torch shines light on sports day
OLYMPIC torch bearer Terry Parker officially opened a county school's sports day.
Mr Parker, 73, who coaches St Rose's Special School's regular tennis club, also joined the pupils for their very own Olympic-style team and torch procession in Stroud. Races like hoop and beanbag followed before a picnic lunch, boccia tournament and sensory pass the parcel.
"He made the opening ceremony special for us," helper Linda Blackwell said.
Mr Parker carried the real flame in Cirencester last month.
Sunday and Monday evenings £12.00 per head for an all inclusive meal with Indian and Thai cuisine (normal price £14.50).
