“Alex Chalk said his priorities for Cheltenham were to "promote the local economy, jobs and growth; tackle the legacy of Labour's debt, secure a strong future for the NHS and improve local education, particularly in maths and the sciences."
Not very inspirational or original, it's also time the Tories stopped going on about inheriting Labour's debt, New Labour inherited the previous Tory goverment problems and they inherited the previous governmants problems and ....this could go on forever.
He's not local to Cheltenham anymore, so I guess he didn't know what local issues to comment on and appears to be out of touch.
Maybe a good career move for him though (power wise), as the Tory's are hoping to steal this seat from the Lib Dems at the next election. There is a good chance he could win this seat given Lib Dems taking the flak for the Tories in Westminister but I think he will need to do better with finding out about local issues and connecting with ordinary folk.”
