Sarah Templeton-Gough said there was so much interest they had to split into two groups on the day.

She said: "It was great fun. We have hopefully found quite a few new members who will be joining us at our next meet-up.

"They were all very stable on their feet, which was great.

"I remember when I first started and I could barely walk so that is a very good sign."

The two groups at the open day were taught how to skate, what the basic rules of the game are and what life is like as a member.

The group have a website at www.severnrollertrent.com for more information on joining.
