THE final event of Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club's time trial calendar is one of the most brutal – a 1.2km burst up Speech House hill.

There was a short dry spell and relatively good turn out for what is not the most pleasant event in the calendar.

Jack Reed was again fastest.

RDFCC's next event is on Sunday, October 7 with the Vintage Tankard on the Hilly Lydbrook course. with a 10.30am start.

This is a way club's team event between RDFCC, holders Ross and District CC and Newport Phoenix.

Each club can enter as many riders as it wants, but the trophy is decided on the aggregate time of their six fastest riders.
