TRADERS and motorists in Cheltenham are bracing themselves for traffic chaos from today as roads on one side of the town are ripped up to repair potholes.

Gloucestershire Highways workers will close parts of Clarence Road, Evesham Road and Prestbury Road between today and next Tuesday.

It comes as they bid to make much-needed repairs to the road surfaces.

Shop owners have voiced dismay at the expected loss of trade while the work is ongoing, but have conceded that the work badly needs to be done.
