Traffic slows as thousands head for Cheltenham Racecourse
Those travelling around Cheltenham can anticipate high levels of traffic today as the town prepares for its most famous festival.
Thousands will decend on Gloucestershire this weekend before the start of racing at Prestbury Park on Tuesday.
This year's four-day event will see crowds of around 60,000 people each day head to Cheltenham Racecourse.
Eager visitors have already started arriving in the spa town and so traffic is moving, but slow in some places.

“So they've stopped any resident parking on Evesham Road (with only a few days notice via letter)......
Apparently removing the parking bays will aid flow ? I don't get this as there is enough room for 4 lanes of traffic (2 in 1 direction towards the brewery), 1 towards the racecourse and 1 parking.....
Even if the parking wasn't there, the junctions only allow for 1 lane of traffic, so it'll make no difference...”

“After seeing a horse refuse to race, and then die when he eventually was forced to run did it for me,I will NEVER see horse racing again in the same light!”
