Traffic warden in suspected ASDA hit-and-run
A 70-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm after a traffic warden was hurt in a collision with a car in ASDA car park yesterday(WEDS).
The 40-year-old traffic warden, who works for contractors Town and City Parking, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to a suspected broken leg.
The incident happened just before 1pm when the warden was on foot. The car driver is then alleged to have left the scene.
Tony Devonald, personnel manager at ASDA, said staff were shocked by the incident.

"This is the first and hopefully the last incident like this I have known," he said.
He said it appeared the warden was trying to administer a parking ticket when the collision happened.
Witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to contact them on 101.
