PROSPECT Training Services (PTS) has struck a deal through an American education board to provide thousands of learning packs and online content to the United States.

In a move that could see its products rolled across the States, PTS has printed 2,000 packs to sell to schools in Ohio.

The training provider, which has headquarters at Waterwells Business Park in Quedgeley, is partnered with the Ohio Department of Education and is set to present its portfolio and future vision to education chiefs from the 50 states at a dedicated talk in Las Vegas later this year.

Group operations director David Evans said: "We can't wait to present. We are punching well above our weight in Ohio. They can't keep up with the pace of our products over there."

The colour-coded, illustrated packs are written in American English and aimed at secondary school pupils.

All content and design has been created and put together by a team of eight staff at the Quedgeley base and then printed across the Atlantic.

Aimed at secondary school pupils, but which can be applied to those outside school, the packs come in five units, with an aid and answers to exercises for teachers.

They cover relationships, economic independence, pre- and neo-natal care, preparation for careers and family.

The packs are all available online and once the 2,000 units are sold, all learning will be sold through an animated website and Android and Apple apps for mobile phones, tablets and laptop computers.

The newly-launched website is already being used by American teachers and the app will be launched soon. All five printed units, which contain more than 900 pages, are sold together for $95(around £60).

David and fellow director Daniel Pinnell have travelled to Ohio several times over the past 12 months.

Daniel added: "The website wasn't primarily developed for the US. It was developed for the UK and will now be turned around for UK use. It can go into every school in Gloucester and the UK. The infrastructure is in place."

PTS employs 95 staff and has seven sites across the county including in Gloucester and Cheltenham.
