CYCLING hero Jamie McDonald has smashed the world record for the longest-ever static bike ride.

His home has been a gazebo at Gloucester Quays for the past 11 days while he pedalled like a demon in a bid to shatter the existing mark of 225 hours on an exercise bike.

He hopped into the saddle after riding back to Gloucester from Bangkok and has been surviving on just 90 minutes' sleep a day.

It's all been in aid of the Pied Piper Appeal, which he has raised in excess of £18,000 for.
