Tributes paid to Gloucester's charity hero Derrick Daley
A TRUE hero and inspiration to all who knew him, Race4Men founder Derrick Daley has lost his long battle with cancer.
Derrick, 65, was a familiar face in Gloucester due to his countless hours of fundraising and campaigning to raise awareness of cancer in men.
He helped establish the Gloucester fun run into an annual event, raising thousands of pounds in the process.
In 2011, the Kingsholm grandfather was awarded the Citizen backed Brave Heart Hero award to recognise his vast achievements.

He raised £15,000 for cancer charities that year and ran the 5km race himself, despite undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy to fight bowel cancer.
His daughter Jo said his loss will leave a gaping hole in the family and the community.
"My dad was a hero to so many people, he was too good for this world," she said.
