Trio boost Lydney bowling attack
LYDNEY will be boosted by the return of three key players for the reverse fixture against Lechlade in Glos/Wiltshire Division tomorrow.
Last weekend the Swan Road side lost to then bottom team Lechlade by 99 runs, to send them back down to the bottom of the table.
However, with skipper Ed Jones and Paul Morris both back, along with Tony Scott, club secretary Andrew Davis said their bowling attack should be reinforced.
"We were a bit light in our bowling on Saturday and we were disappointed with it, but we are hoping to put that right this week now," he said.
"We have got a few back this week, so that should make a difference. That is the main part of the bowling, so that should help."
Lechlade were bottom, but their win over Lydney has catapulted them up to sixth in the table.
That shows how tight the division is and Davis said they were disappointed to be bottom again following two consecutive wins and not be where their opponents were now.
"We were going well for the last couple of weeks, but then I think they performed better then we did on the surface," he added.
"Hopefully we can shoot up the table. We have to keep battling on and keep going as we are going.
"It is very tight at the bottom and we have to make sure that we are not in the bottom two at the end of the season, but there are some big games coming up."
