Tube map created of Cheltenham's pubs
LONDON'S tube map has baffled and delighted many a visitor to England over the years.
But a maths teacher is hoping it will entice a few more punters into Cheltenham's pubs.
John Coats has used it as a model of a new map – showing Cheltenham's best-known drinking holes.
The Pub Stops of Cheltenham design displays more than 75 of the town's best-loved night-time spots, recreating the lines of the tube to give drinkers an idea for a pub crawl.

Martyn Herbert, of Gloucestershire's Campaign for Real Ale said he was supportive of anything that would take trade to pubs .
Speaking from Cheltenham's oldest pub The Old Restoration, which is on the map's red central line, Mr Herbert said the industry was still fragile and there was a possibility some of the pubs could close soon after the map comes out.
He said: "Anything that encourages people to use our pubs in the current climate is good." He added that trade in pubs had improved, but the new year would be a difficult time. "Although the more traditional pubs are not booming, they do seem to be doing a bit better," he said.
"Everyone has had a bumper weekend with the races and with Christmas coming, things are looking good for the well-established pubs."
Pubs such as The Jolly Brewmaster, The Ridge in Swindon Village and The Beehive in Prestbury feature on the map. John, from Sheffield, has produced a number of the designs for cities and towns across the UK in the past seven years.
He has been working with Cheltenham graphic designer Phil Bowell for the spa town's creation.
John said: "I think there is something about the local pub and the way that pubs are such important landmarks in our cities that appeals to people.
"Cheltenham has a great pub tradition and I hope I've done it justice."
Dr Karen Williams, Associate Medical Director and Consultant Addiction Psychiatrist, from the 2gether NHS Foundation Trust, said: "If people stick to the recommended guidelines for alcohol, then drinking is not too much of a problem."
