VIDEO: Big Taiko drum beats inspire youngsters
MUSICIANS showcased their talent in a Japanese percussion class.
The Collective Conscience Society (CCS) Taiko session, which means big drum, was started by retired Peter Hewitt and it is aimed at children and adults with special needs.

Peter said: "I was on holiday in Cornwall in May 2010, when I saw three girls and one boy play the Taiko. I was so enthusiastic about it, that I thought it would be great for people with autism, it has discipline and rhythm. It is something really beneficial."

Peter then decided to hold classes at The Milestone School.
"The class really enjoy themselves and I do this voluntary but like seeing people play and see them improve their skills," he said.
The classes have now moved to Jamats Activity Centre, in London Road on Wednesdays at 6pm and Saturday at 10.30am.
New sessions have also started at the Butterfly Garden in Bamfurlong Lane, in Cheltenham, on Fridays.
