YOU wouldn't blame staff at McDonald's if they had 'suspicious minds' when Elvis rocked up in the drive-thru.

But that's exactly what happened when Stroud's very own Elvis impersonator Joe Reeve turned up at the town's fast food outlet.

He filmed the hilarious stunt and the video has been going viral online.

"I started the whole Elvis thing as a bit of fun when I worked in a pub. I did a gig and it snowballed from there," said the 42-year-old.

The stay-at-home dad has an impressive repertoire of up to 30 of the King's classics including Suspicious Minds and My Way.

"I have a gig coming up and thought it would be a fun way to promote it if Elvis turned up in some unusual places.

"The staff at McDonald's were really professional. They just treated me like any other customer.

"I also did another video where Elvis tried looking for work at the Job Centre but we were thrown out because filming wasn't allowed inside."

The singer-songwriter said: "It's always quite nerve-wracking when I slip into the Elvis costume because at that moment I become him.

"I even do an American accent between numbers."

His next gig is at the Lansdown Hall on February 16 from 8pm. Tickets, which are £12.50, are available from the Trading Post record shop, in Kendrick Street.
