Vacancy to lead canal work parties
DEDICATED canals volunteer Mark Welton has stepped down from his role, leaving a vacancy for a working parties team leader.
For longer than Cotswold Canals Trust supporters can remember, Mr Welton has led regular waterway clearance efforts in and around the summit pound of the Thames and Severn Canal, based at the Tunnel House Inn at Coates.
But Mr Welton has now decided that pressure of work coupled with other long-standing commitments means that he feels unable to continue as leader.
