A PLAN to create an interactive history of the town's traders should be up and running by next month.

Cheltenham Connect is setting up a website which uses a map of the town to provide brief histories of each shop and a link to their own websites.

The volunteer group, which was set up to help businesses in Tivoli, The Park, the Suffolks and at the southern end of Bath Road, hit problems in April when the company it had lined up to produce the map has pulled out. But the project is now back on track and organisers say it should be online within a few weeks.

A spokesman said: "The website is now in development and we have started to input all the material. We hope that the site will be ready enough to show everyone by the beginning of July. If you or your family members have any old photos or memories of our local shops, please let us know."
