THEATRE-GOERS will experience a blast from the past, as a new production at the Playhouse Theatre takes the audience back to the Swinging Sixties.

Dancing With Auntie, written and directed by Bill Cronshaw, (pictured) is performed next Friday and Saturday, in a double bill with the comedy Dream On.

Performed by Dreamshed Theatre Company, the production tells the story of mother and daughter, Irene and Sherry Marie Louise, in Manchester in 1967 who have big dreams despite their lower class background. Therefore, it seems too good to be true when Lavinia from the renowned programme Wannabe, steps in promising to transform their lives. The play contains scenes of an adult nature. Performances start at 7.45pm. For tickets, £10, call 01242 522852.
