Wards closed at Cheltenham General Hospital after norovirus found
VISITORS are being stopped from seeing patients in four wards in Cheltenham General Hospital after the discovery of the norovirus.
Staff have quarantined Guiting, Woodmancote, Kemerton and Ryeworth wards in an effort to stop the spread of the illness.
The bug is usually over within 48 hours, but is highly infectious, which is why the trust is limiting the number of people moving in and out of the affected wards.
Bosses said exceptions could be made for relatives hoping to visit on compassionate grounds.
